The companies are co-developing a modular 2-5 megawatt (MW) SST building block that integrates Infineon’s cutting-edge silicon carbide (SiC) switching technology with SolarEdge’s proven DC architecture and control topologies. The technology under development between SolarEdge and Infineon is designed to enable direct medium-voltage (13.8-34.5 kV) to 800-1500V DC conversion. This eliminates the need for intermediate stages, which typically introduce energy losses and increase system complexity.
