New OnLogic Raspberry Pi Industrial Controller engineered for the IoT Edge

Global industrial computer manufacturer and IoT solution provider OnLogic, known for their reliable, orange, industrial PCs, has announced the immediate availability of their Factor 202 Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4-powered industrial controller.

Onboard digital I/O (DIO) and analog input, as well as an available capacitive touchscreen provide connectivity and control for a wide range of IoT, edge computing and advanced automation applications. The system is making its public debut this week at Electronica 2022 in Munich, Germany.

“Factor 202 offers excellent options for industrial customers who require performant computing in a flexible format that caters to their needs,” says Raspberry Pi Director of Applications, Roger Thornton. “We’re very pleased that OnLogic has chosen Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 to provide the reliable and powerful compute on which their new product is built.”

Factor 202 is a compact, passively cooled computing device intended for use as an industrial gateway, automation controller or edge computer. In addition to the Raspberry Pi CM4, the system features an operating temperature range of -20 to 60°C, options for DIN Rail or wall mounting, and 8-24V power input.

Onboard digital I/O, as well as additional analog inputs allow for a wide range of devices to be interfaced, and an available 2.7 inch capacitive touchscreen can be used to provide status updates and system control. The device can also be powered via an ethernet cord utilizing PoE Power Delivery (PoE-PD), enabling single cable installation to provide both network access and power to the device.

“When Raspberry Pi unveiled the CM4, they mentioned that over half of the Raspberry Pi computers sold were being used for industrial and commercial applications,” says OnLogic Senior Product Manager, Mike Walsh. “The reaction to the launch of our Factor 201 system earlier this year showed us just how excited industrial users are to have a solution built with their needs in mind. The Factor 202 takes everything that makes the Factor 201 so special and adds additional connectivity and an available built-in user interface, allowing for even more device and deployment customization.”
