Alumasc to present new highway drainage solution at Highways UK

Transport infrastructure is considered to be one of the main drivers behind economic development in the UK and around the globe. Britain’s roads literally keep the nation moving; but too much water with nowhere to go can bring it to a standstill.

Alumasc Water Management Solutions comes to Highways UK, at the NEC Birmingham on 7th and 8th November 2018, with a complete range of highway drainage solutions to future-proof water management. They will be exhibiting at stand C16, alongside composite steel reinforced pipe manufacturers, AquaSpira.

Launching FILCOTEN One and re-introducing FILCOTEN Green after development, Alumasc strives to deliver the next move in highway water management, that will allow road planners and builders to build for the future, today.

The revolutionary FILCOTEN One exemplifies how simple ideas are often the best. For the first time, this one-piece channel and grating drain has been made from FILCOTEN High Performance Concrete (HPC), combining innovation with sustainability. Durable, 100% recyclable, lightweight and extremely low greenhouse gas emission levels all make it beneficial for both the industry and the environment.

After intensive research and development, FILCOTEN Green now clears surface water of pollutants more efficiently than ever, protecting the natural water cycle with lasting effect. A new nominal width of 400mm and an optimized drainage channel, drainage and retention capacities have been considerably increased to offer sustainability and efficiency in perfect harmony.

Alongside these, Alumasc will also be exhibiting its state-of-the-art core favourites from the Gatic Slotdrain range, including Gatic CastSlot & UltraSlot. This unobtrusive drainage solution is designed specifically to perform under the pressure of constant, slow turning traffic. Where loads are heavy, Slotdrain is now a trusted staple in surface water drainage.

AquaSpira CSR pipes are uniquely suited to new and existing highway applications. The steel reinforced structure of the pipe wall provides predictable long-term stability in the most arduous of highway locations. The minimal OD of AquaSpira CSR pipes allows pipes to be installed within the smallest footprint in the highway, minimizing excavation and disruption to the road surface and other buried utilities. Efficient installation reduces programme time significantly, and with 60% fewer deliveries to site.

Michael White, Business Development Director at Alumasc Water Management Solutions commented: “As the industry undergoes constant flux and disruption, the way we move people and goods around is changing. The expectation is that productivity in the highway industry will improve, become more efficient, deliver higher quality service for road users, an improved network across the country- and do all this in the most environmentally friendly way possible. High quality, innovative water management solutions are vital to be able to achieve this and to keep this progression going.

“We at Alumasc are working toward solutions that deliver on these expectations and more. We are very excited to be exhibiting at Highways UK and look forward eagerly to seeing other future-proofers in the industry there.”

Uniting those responsible for planning, designing, operating and future-proofing the UK’s road networks, Highways UK is a major event for innovators of new product technology and systems that keep the UK moving.
