WJ Group reinforces market leading position in UK with Bellstan acquisition

WJ Group, the market-leading highway marking and safety business, has acquired Bellstan Ltd, a long-standing road marking company based in Berkshire.

The official acquisition announcement was made on 2nd June 2021 and follows the December introduction of investment partner THI. WJ has wasted no time in putting their ambitious strategic plan into action, with Bellstan being the first acquisition since the THI partnership began.

WJ Group CEO and founder Wayne Johnston commented: “I am excited to welcome the experienced and highly skilled Bellstan team to the WJ Group, Bellstan has a great reputation for an excellent quality service which aligns with WJs existing values and way of working.

The acquisition of Bellstan also supports our existing core service and product offering, but further strengthens our service network with additional coverage along the M4 corridor and surrounding areas. We are confident that this acquisition will have a positive impact adding value to all of our customers and our people”.

Bellstan Managing Director Julian Zaremba commented: “As Bellstan celebrates 52 years as a Road Marking company, I can’t think of a safer pair of hands than WJ, to take it forward for the next 52!”

In the short term, Bellstan will continue to trade as it has previously but will fully integrate its business into WJ Group by the end of the year.

Founded in 1987, WJ have an impressive track record, but despite the significant growth and investment, such as this latest acquisition, the business still remains grounded; fully committed to their four core values of Safety, Delivery, Innovation, and Community.

With their vision to “sustainably deliver an exceptional service” WJ are forging ahead as an innovative and sustainable growth leader within the sector.
