Bobcat launches new products at Hillhead 2022

Bobcat is presenting several new products for the first time at Hillhead 2022. These include the show premiere of the E88, a brand new 8 tonne Stage V compliant model that extends the company’s new generation R2-Series of mini-excavators.

As well as the E88, other products appearing for the first time at Hillhead include Bobcat’s new R-Series telehandler range; the L85, the first model in the company’s compact wheel loader range and a number of new light compaction products. The Bobcat stand also features the E10e, the world’s first battery-powered 1 tonne mini-excavator.

The New E88 – Setting the Standard in the 8 tonne Category

Delivering outstanding performance from a compact dimension machine, superb operator comfort and excellent stability with high digging output, the new E88 replaces the previous E85 M-Series machine.

The E88 provides the operator with the full experience expected of an R2-Series excavator, adding new features and options such as an optional fourth AUX4 auxiliary tilt coupler line, a fifth AUX5 hydraulic coupler line as standard and a longer undercarriage. The proven Bobcat D24 Stage V 4-cylinder engine offers a maximum power output of 48.5 kW (65 HP) and ensures the highest performance and maximum reliability.

Bobcat´s acknowledged productivity is coupled with smooth controllability thanks to low effort joysticks and intuitive 5- or 7-Inch displays, class-leading visibility and exceptional transportability for its weight class. Large, easy opening covers provide convenient, ground level access to all service points and for maintenance checks.

Like previous Bobcat R2-Series machines such as the E60 launched at the end of 2020, the new E88 continues to develop the philosophy of ‘built around the operator’. The spacious cab with plenty of headroom and legroom retains the proven design of the cab in the E60. Easy and safe to get in and out of thanks to the wide doors, unique 3D handle, anti-slip step on the undercarriage and foot space above the track, the cab makes the daily life of the operator an easier one.

Precise Control and Placement at Height

The new T36.120 and T41.140 R-Series telehandlers are being shown for the first time at Hillhead. They are part of a choice of 12 new models with Stage V engines in the R-Series range, covering lifting heights from 6 to 18 m with maximum lifting capacities between 2.6 and 4.1 tonne.

The new R-Series telehandlers offer agility on demand, with a newly configured transmission system providing enhanced smoothness to carry out the trickiest jobs at height with surgical precision. These operations are also facilitated by the combination of the Boom Positioning System, the new updated, ultra-accurate joystick, the inching function and the improved visibility from the cab. An enhanced inching pedal design is easier to use and reduces fatigue. A higher engine brake provides a shorter stop distance and increases safety on construction sites. Turtle/rabbit speeds are standard on all models and operated from the joystick.

Bobcat R-Series telehandlers feature a new cab with unmatched ease of use, again designed around the operator, offering a unique central control panel for optimized 360° ergonomics. In the ergonomic design, all surfaces have been optimised to offer increased space and visibility. It is based around a new 5-inch LCD display providing interactive and streamlined information, including the feed from the rear camera for easier and more precise operation.

Bobcat Offers Largest Loader Portfolio in the World

With the L85 model, Bobcat now has the largest loader portfolio of any manufacturer in the world and will widen this further when the company launches the second model in the compact wheel loader range, the L75, later this year. High performance is assured by the combination of the powerful Bobcat engine and the hydraulics in the L85. This is complemented by the high stability, breakout, push and pull forces and a comprehensive selection of Bobcat attachments.

Already, there are multiple Bobcat loader attachments approved for use on the L85, with more to be announced in the near future. The current portfolio includes a general purpose bucket, light material buckets, a combination bucket, pallet forks and angle broom and snowblower attachments, making the L85 a truly multi-purpose machine.

The L85 is equipped as standard with the Power Quick-Tach system compatible with widely used industry standard couplers. To run high-flow attachments like a snow blower and an angle broom, the L85 can be fitted with a high flow option, providing a hydraulic flow of 100 l/min.

Bobcat Expands Variety with Light Compaction Range

Also appearing at Hillhead for the first time are new light compaction products from Bobcat. Designed to meet work requirements on almost any compaction job site, the Bobcat light compaction range comprises seven different product families and offers 37 models, from vibratory rammers weighing 29 kg up to 2.6 tonne tandem rollers.

The products on the Hillhead stand include the R60 vibratory rammer, which is suitable for compacting mixed soils, sand, gravel materials, loam and clay. Like the R60, the new FP10.33 forward plate is easy to transport between job sites, and ideal for compaction in tight spaces (trenches, pipelines and sidewalks) and even landscaping. Bobcat is also showing the HP65.85 hydrostatic plate, designed for heavier compaction work in civil engineering and road construction. The display is completed by the ATR 12/26 articulated ride-on tandem roller used for larger surfaces of sub-base, asphalt or other ground materials.

Bobcat Increases Production of the E10e Electric Excavator

Built on the same line as the highly successful diesel-powered Bobcat E08 and E10z mini-excavators, production of the company’s E10e battery-powered model has recently been increased.

The Bobcat E10e offers zero emissions, low noise and a width of just 71 cm, allowing it to easily pass through standard doors and in and out of lifts. The E10e is therefore ideal not only for indoor demolition and basement digging, but also many other sites where this type of machine is required such as urban/city centre developments, night-time work and contracts in quiet zones including hospitals, cemeteries, schools and so on.
