Insta360 GO Ultra is the World’s Smallest 4K Camera

Insta360 has unveiled the GO Ultra, a pocket-sized powerhouse designed to capture life exactly as it happens. Retaining the tiny, hands-free design that creators love, the new model packs in serious upgrades for exceptional image quality and creative flexibility.

As Insta360 Co-Founder and VP of Marketing Max Richter put it: “GO Ultra takes the advancements made with the Ace and X series cameras, and puts them into the type of compact, pocket camera our GO Series creators enjoy, opening up new creative opportunities without sacrificing portability.”

The GO Ultra boasts a 1/1.28-inch sensor that’s 221% larger than its predecessor, paired with a next-generation 5nm AI chip. This combination enables ultra-smooth 4K video at 60 frames per second and delivers cinematic quality from a device no bigger than a smartwatch. The new PureVideo mode harnesses advanced AI algorithms to tackle low-light challenges, cutting noise and brightening dark scenes without compromising detail.

Big Tech in a Small Frame

Weighing in at just 53 grams, the GO Ultra can be worn, mounted, or positioned almost anywhere thanks to its built-in magnetic base. The upgraded Magnet Pendant, peel-and-stick Sticky Tabs, and even a playful Toddler Titan Hat Clip make it possible to capture angles other cameras simply can’t reach.

The updated Insta360 app complements the hardware with robust AI-powered editing tools. With just a few taps, users can add transitions, effects, and music, while cyclists can overlay GPS, heart rate, and speed data from Strava or other compatible devices directly onto their footage. The new AI Family Moments feature even organises special clips of loved ones into a ready-to-share virtual album.

Hands-Free Creativity

The GO Ultra’s wearable design opens the door to true POV shooting. Attach it to the Magnet Pendant or Magnetic Easy Clip and record hands-free from your perspective. The camera’s magnetic base sticks to any metallic surface and works seamlessly with accessories like the Pivot Mount and Flexi Strap Mount, enabling innovative third-person shots.

Thanks to Bluetooth connectivity, the camera can stream in real time to the Action Pod. This feature is perfect for letting kids explore, as parents can watch their perspective live on the 2.5-inch flip touchscreen.

Built for Adventure

This is a camera that’s made for life on the move. Small enough to slip into a pocket or handbag, the GO Ultra is also IPX8 waterproof to 10 metres, meaning it can join you from mountaintop hikes to underwater dives without missing a beat.

From recording a child’s first birthday party to capturing a BMX stunt, the GO Ultra is built to handle almost anything. It’s equally at home shooting crisp cityscapes or rich, dynamic beach sunsets.

Clarity That Counts

The enlarged 1/1.28-inch sensor captures more light, while an ambient light sensor dynamically adjusts colour and reduces flicker for a natural look. The 5nm AI chip ensures faster processing and cleaner images, even in challenging lighting conditions.

Active HDR and PureVideo modes expand its low-light performance, ensuring the action doesn’t have to stop when daylight fades. Whether filming around a campfire or walking through a night market, the GO Ultra keeps colours vibrant and detail sharp.

Battery and Storage Without Limits

Battery life often limits small cameras, but the GO Ultra overcomes this with a 70-minute runtime for the Standalone Camera and up to 200 minutes when paired with the Action Pod. Fast charging gets you to 80% in just 12 minutes, perfect for on-the-go shooting.

Unlike its predecessor, the GO Ultra ditches fixed storage in favour of removable microSD cards. With support for up to 2TB, creators can keep swapping cards to keep shooting, avoiding the frustration of mid-adventure file transfers.

Seamless Editing and Sharing

Once the footage is captured, the Insta360 app makes editing effortless. Users can rely on Auto Edit for instant highlight reels or dive into manual controls for precise storytelling. The workflow is optimised for social media, enabling content to be shared within minutes of capture.
