2025 Nissan Frontier features Rugged Design, Enhanced Capability and Modern Tech

Nissan’s beloved Frontier gets a robust makeover for 2025, blending rugged aesthetics with improved utility for work and play.

The pickup now offers increased towing capacity, a widely available long-bed configuration, a larger infotainment screen, and standard safety technology.

Bold New Look and Enhanced Features

The 2025 Frontier sports a refreshed design that bolsters its tough, squared-off look. This includes a revamped front fascia, grille, bumper design, and a new tailgate finisher for the PRO-X and PRO-4X models. Additionally, new 17-inch alloy wheels and the striking Afterburn Orange paint option make the Frontier unmissable on the road.

Listening to its customers, Nissan has made several functional revisions to enhance the Frontier’s convenience. A telescopic-adjusting steering wheel is now standard across all grades, and a four-way power passenger seat is standard on the PRO-X, PRO-4X, and SL grades. On the SV grades and higher, the six-way power driver’s seat now includes two-way power lumbar support.

Technological Advancements

The 2025 Frontier ups the ante with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system on SV grades and above, making in-car functions more intuitive. The system now supports wireless Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay®, eliminating the need for USB cords. All Frontier models come with a standard sliding rear window and a sunglasses holder in the overhead console. Additionally, SV models feature 17-inch alloy wheels, while SL grades come equipped with a wireless phone charger, Intelligent Around View® Monitor, and a four-way power passenger seat.

Increased Capability and Flexibility

Addressing the diverse needs of truck enthusiasts, the 2025 Frontier now offers the Crew Cab long-wheelbase configuration across SV, PRO-4X, and SL grades. This 6-foot bed option caters to those needing to haul larger loads, whether for work or recreational activities.

The Frontier’s towing capacity has been boosted to a maximum of 7,150 pounds, up by approximately 500 pounds from the 2024 model. This enhanced capacity ensures that the Frontier can handle more demanding tasks, whether on the job or during adventures. The PRO-4X variant also benefits from an upgraded Intelligent Around View® Monitor with Off-Road Mode, which now operates at speeds up to 12 mph, helping drivers navigate rugged terrains more confidently.

Standard Safety Features

Safety is paramount in the 2025 Frontier, with numerous driver assistance technologies now standard across all grades. These include Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Rear Parking Sensors, High Beam Assist, and Intelligent Cruise Control.

The SL grade also features Traffic Sign Recognition, providing additional peace of mind.

Performance and Utility

The Frontier’s 3.8-litre V6 engine, paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission, remains a standout feature. Delivering 310 horsepower and 281 lb-ft of torque, this direct-injected engine includes Idle Stop/Start technology for enhanced fuel efficiency. Active Brake Limited Slip is standard across all grades, with the PRO-4X model adding an electronic locking differential for improved traction on mixed surfaces.

The PRO-X and PRO-4X variants cater to off-road enthusiasts with all-terrain tires, Bilstein off-road suspension components, and a rugged look featuring over-fenders and Lava Red tow hooks. To securely carry various loads, the Frontier offers the Utili-Track™ system with adjustable tie-down cleats and an available spray-in bedliner. The bed also includes an optional 120-volt power outlet.

Luxury and Comfort

For those seeking a more luxurious option, the Frontier SL provides leather-appointed front and rear seating, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, LED exterior lighting, and a Fender® Premium Audio system with 10 speakers.

These features ensure that the Frontier not only performs well but also offers a comfortable and premium driving experience.

A Reliable and Versatile Midsize Truck

The 2025 Nissan Frontier combines rugged design, enhanced capabilities, and modern technology, making it a compelling choice for those needing a reliable and versatile midsize truck.

With improvements driven by customer feedback, Nissan has ensured that the Frontier meets the evolving needs of today’s drivers.

Pricing details will be announced closer to the on-sale date, with the refreshed Frontier set to hit Nissan dealerships later this summer.
