HSE Week UAE 2025 Sets a New Benchmark for Workplace Safety and Sustainability

HSE Week UAE 2025 in Abu Dhabi drew record-breaking attendance, uniting government leaders, international industry experts, and health, safety, and environment (HSE) specialists for a pivotal discussion on workplace safety, sustainability, and regulatory excellence.

Hosted by Verve Management, the event reinforced the UAE’s ambition to lead in HSE innovation, aligning seamlessly with the nation’s Net Zero 2050 vision.

The summit opened with a keynote from Dr. Huda Khalifa Alsalmi, Head of HSE at Abu Dhabi City Municipality. She stressed the urgency of embedding sustainability within all aspects of HSE through green building certifications, carbon reduction strategies, and circular economy principles. “Embedding sustainability into every aspect of HSE is no longer optional; it is essential for protecting both people and the planet,” she declared, setting an ambitious tone for the discussions ahead.

Pioneering Discussions on Safety in High-Risk Environments

Day one’s agenda tackled some of the most pressing safety challenges, from extreme environment worker protection to fire safety compliance in high-rise developments. Case studies from Abu Dhabi City Municipality, TAQA, Kaizen Asset Management, International Maritime Industries, and Imdaad Group illustrated real-world strategies for achieving “Zero Harm.”

A standout panel titled “The Future of HSE in the UAE: Innovation, Integration, and Impact” explored the transformative potential of AI, IoT, and automation in predictive safety, proactive risk reduction, and building intelligent HSE infrastructure.

It’s inspiring to see so many passionate experts exchanging ideas and exploring the latest trends and innovations in health, safety, and environment.”

Dr. Waddah S. Ghanem Al Hashmi, Chairman of the Federal Occupational Health & Safety Committee, ESMA, noted the event’s strategic role: “The strong line-up of speakers, coupled with the diversity of panels and discussions, makes this event stand out as one of the leading platforms for advancing occupational health and safety.”

Suzan Al Ghanem, Section Head at the Environment Agency, Abu Dhabi, pointed to the tangible benefits: “Beyond networking, it showcases cutting-edge personal protective equipment and the latest HSE technologies that are essential for improving safety and sustainability.”

Abdelhamid Soliman, Head of HSE & Welfare at Innovo Group, emphasised practical takeaways: “The sessions I attended were highly engaging and rich in practical knowledge. Such opportunities significantly contribute to professional growth and organisational excellence.”

Innovation on Display

The exhibition floor was a hub of technological breakthroughs. Next-generation personal protective equipment, real-time digital safety monitoring systems, and innovative safety solutions demonstrated how emerging technologies can redefine workplace protection.

Attendees engaged in high-value networking, exchanging actionable strategies that reinforced the central message: safety and sustainability thrive when coupled with innovation.

Expanding the Conversation Tomorrow

The event continues with a focus on sustainable energy operations, mental health in high-risk sectors, predictive safety technologies, hazardous materials management, and the contribution of smart HVAC systems to workplace air quality.

By addressing both current and emerging challenges, HSE Week UAE 2025 is shaping the dialogue on workplace safety and environmental responsibility, not just for the UAE, but for the wider region.

Driving Change Through Collaboration

HSE Week UAE 2025 has established itself as more than an industry gathering; it is a platform for shaping the next generation of HSE practices.
