Hitachi compact construction equipment make a perfect combination
A Hitachi ZW75-6 wheel loader and ZX55U-5 mini excavator are offering exceptional support to a landscape gardening company in southwest Germany. Susewind is using the two compact machines to construct and maintain private gardens near the city of Freiburg, as well as for additional forestry projects.
One of its latest assignments was to build a terraced garden at the rear of two newly built houses in the suburb of Bötzingen. The ZW75-6 and ZX55U-5 were supplied by Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) NV’s (HCME) authorised German dealer – Kiesel – with whom Susewind shares a long and mutually beneficial relationship. They also complement Susewind’s existing fleet of Hitachi construction equipment, which includes the ZX10U-2 and ZX33U-3 mini excavators.
Superior machinery and service
Owner Sven Susewind is happy to continue his association with Hitachi: “The service we receive is outstanding. My two most important considerations when buying new equipment are the overall service I receive and the quality of the machine. I can completely trust Kiesel to supply me with a superior Zaxis excavator or ZW wheel loader.”
On this site, the ZX55U-5 was being used for general preparation work, including the removal of debris and weeds. Its design has endeared it to operator Erwin Ufheil: “Having a short-tail machine is very convenient. Owing to its shape, the Hitachi mini excavator is ideal for the type of work we’re doing. For me, the number one feature has to be the hydraulics, which are extremely smooth.”
Highly responsive
The ZW75-6 was being used to transport materials around the busy site. The compact wheel loader was also clearing away any overgrown vegetation and loading the trucks. When necessary, it was also used for road sweeping in the surrounding area. “The narrow shape and overall design of the wheel loader are ideal,” explains its operator Rainer Kühnle.
“I particularly like the Hitachi ZW75-6, because of its manoeuvrability. It offers excellent visibility and I can see every corner of the machine. It’s also highly responsive. Compared to other models, it is much smoother over rough ground, while the cabin is both spacious and comfortable.”
An excellent partnership
The combination of the ZW75-6 and ZX55U-5 has been a revelation for Sven: “The partnership between the two Hitachi machines is fantastic, and I always aim to have them working together on the same project.
“Having all the equipment from one brand not only makes servicing easier, but it also looks impressive on site. The design of the Hitachi machines is wonderful and owning them creates an excellent image for my company.”
