AI in AEC 2027 will bring the international architecture, engineering and construction community to Helsinki on 17–18 March 2027 for two days focused on the rapidly evolving role of artificial intelligence across the built environment.

Organised by the Finnish Association of Civil Engineers RIL and hosted at Clarion Hotel Helsinki with virtual participation also available, the conference connects industry professionals, technology specialists, researchers and business leaders exploring how AI is moving from experimentation into practical AEC workflows. The event has developed a genuinely international following, attracting more than 320 participants from 38 countries in 2026.

The 2027 programme will examine both the opportunities and the practical challenges surrounding AI adoption, from generative and agentic systems to BIM integration, automation, standards, trustworthy AI and real-world deployment. Confirmed keynote speakers include Tampere University Professor Pekka Abrahamsson, Mace Consult’s Dr Marzia Bolpagni and AAL INNOVATION CEO and Co-Founder Adeline Chan, bringing perspectives spanning software engineering, international standards and AI implementation across global AEC markets.

Alongside the conference sessions, a partner exhibition and extensive networking opportunities will give technology developers, contractors, consultants, engineers and researchers a valuable platform for exchanging ideas and examining where artificial intelligence is taking the industry next.
